I was sad to cancel my gym membership, but with everything going on with madam corona, I couldn’t take a risk on my health. So after canceling it, I had to get creative on how to workout. I turned to YouTube workouts.
But finding YouTube workouts wasn’t easy for me. Why? You have to find videos that fit your needs and athleticism. I am not very athletic, and I don’t have much workout equipment. Also, I don’t know about you all, but I am picky about whether I like the instructor or not.
Thankfully for you, I have saved all the YouTube workout videos I liked and compiled a list for you to use. Videos include dancing, HIIT, yoga, and equipment-less workouts.
20 Minute Full Body Disney HIIT HOP Workout by That Disney Girl
Let me start by saying that I am not a natural dancer. I am as coordinated as a spaghetti noddle. Yet, this workout video makes me want to bust a move. Emily from EMK Fitness, who leads the class, does such a great job keeping you wanting more and more. I break a sweat when I do this video, and my muscles even ached the first two times I participated. The two best parts of this workout are that it is less than 20 minutes, and the song selection is lit.
15 min Dance Party Workout – Full Body/No Equipment by MadFit
I am a massive fan of 2000s music. All of my go-to karaoke songs are from the 2000s, and I always love to dance around when songs come up when I am at a bar. So when I found MadFit’s 2000s dance party video, I quickly changed to workout gear and pressed play.
Y’all. MadFit makes me swear at my laptop screen, and yet, I loved it. The video is filled with bops by User, Rihanna, The Pussycat Dolls, and Beyonce. What more can a girl ask for when doing cardio? The best part is that MadFit has a whole playlist filled with song workouts, so if you want to exercise to your favorite song, MadFit is your girl.
Hands-Free Vinyasa Flow – Yoga Class with No Planks or Downward Dog by Yoga With Kassandra
I mentioned in my morning routine blog post that I like to do yoga in the morning. Yoga with Kassandra is my go-to yogi due to her soothing voice and detailed instructions. Unfortunately, I have weak wrists, so doing certain poses can cause my wrists to give up on me. The Hands-Free Vinyasa Flow is perfect for my needs and only takes 30 minutes. It helps strengthen my lower body, and I feel so relaxed afterward.
I highly recommend checking out her other videos. She has various playlists to meet multiple types of needs, including time, yoga type, and difficulty level.
Don’t Cha – The Pussycat Dolls | Caleb Marshall x Whitney Thore | Dance Workout by The Fitness Marshall
Need an introductory dance video? No need to search because The Fitness Marshall is perfect for you. “Don’t Cha” is one of my favorite songs to dance to, and The Fitness Marshall makes it easy to follow along. I have seen this video so many times that I know most of the workout memorized and tend to start doing it when the song pops up on my Spotify.
The Fitness Marshall has done dances to many songs, so you have a vast selection to pick from when going through the playlist. Not going to lie, I want to do “Sorry” by Justin Bieber next. Don’t judge me.
30-Minute No-Equipment Cardio & HIIT Workout by POPSUGAR Fitness
POPSUGAR Fitness is killing the YouTube workout game. This no-equipment workout includes three circuits that make me feel like my heart is going to explode while making my muscles ache. But it isn’t the wrong kind of ache. It is the ache where you feel like you accomplished something.
The way they have their playlists organized is top tier and great to find whatever you need. I can always find what I need.
Full Circuit Workout by Emily Skye
I am a HUGE fan of Emily Skye, and I have previously lost weight following her program. Her 25-minute full-body workout is tough, but your arms, legs, and core will get stronger. I still try to follow her videos on YouTube, but I mostly use her app. I highly recommend following her.
The BEST Band Workout! by Tone It Up
A few years ago, I bought bands after seeing a bunch of Instagram influencers use them. The issue was that I never learned how to use them until I came across this video by Tone It Up. Now, I love working out with my bands to these videos. By the time the 14-minutes are up, I am drenched in sweat, and my body is aching.
They have other great videos in their playlists to meet your workout needs. I haven’t checked out their other videos, but if they are anything like the band workout, you are in for a treat.
How To Twerk In 5 Minutes | Tone N Twerk Workout by Hip Shake Fitness
I don’t know how to twerk, but I love watching this video to pretend as if I do. Hip Shake Fitness’s beginner twerk video is fun and motivates you to continue doing your thing. They encourage everyone to learn to twerk, no matter the size of your peach.
I haven’t tried their other videos, but their playlists are filled with some awesome-looking dance videos as well as videos on nutrition and health. I did see a video on dancing with heels so if you want to try something new, try it out!
YouTube workout videos have saved my life this quarantine. They have kept me in shape, in health, and given me the distraction I need. If you have any recommendations, leave a comment to let me know. I am always open to trying new workout videos.
